Instructions and painting guides:

Packaging - The sprues were bagged either individually or two per or three per bag not overcrowded bags. Clear Parts were separately bags.

Instructions - Very clear and crisp. Easy to follow and understand and also clearly show where to remove/cut away plastic to make room for etched or resin parts.

Examples of how clear the instructions are:

Clearly show you the area that need to be removed:

Decals - Lovely printed decal (Cartograf I think?) all in register, good colours and it has some beautiful nose arts. It also has a good range of schemes with 5 different schemes (All US)

Accuracy - Not being up on the P-38 I could closely criticise the kit but all the shapes etc look good.

Detail - Recessed panel line and they are crisp and neat.

Extras - Full resin cockpit (including photo-etch) as well as exterior etched part and a full set of masks for canopy and wheels etc.

Value for Money - Excellent value for money in my opinion because to buy the academy kit and all the extras you get in the kit you are talking around the £55 mark but this kit at £41.99 is a bargain for all that extra detail.

Conclusion - This is a brilliant kit and will look good in any display case. If you are looking for an OOB build then just get the Academy kit but if you what all the extras then get yourselves one of these beauties.
